Real ID, Give Life Month

                   REAL ID, GIVE LIFE MONTH Reminder by Gail K. Kachnycz 2 April 2025

     Enforcement of Real ID will begin on May 7, 2025. This means that you need to have a government approved form of identification to fly in the USA, enter a military base, or enter a federal facility that requires ID. If you have a passport, this will comply with the rule. You just need to remember to take it with you for ID purposes and any air travel, whether within the USA or international flights. If you do not have a passport, and plan to enter a military base or federal facility, or travel by air is planned for any time starting May 7, 2025, you need to get a Real ID. You can do so at PennDOT drivers license centers. On Monday, April 7, PennDOT is hosting Real ID Days at 57 locations throughout the state. Check here:

     If you have a passport, or do not have air travel planned for immediately after May 7, 2025, you can get a Real ID driver's license the next time your usual renewal is due, or another convenient time before that. Check the PennDOT link above to get a list of the documents needed to meet Real ID requirements.
